Editorial policy
Honest Public Dispatch aims to publish clear, careful writing about shared civic life. We distinguish established information from interpretation, make uncertainty visible and correct errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable sources before publication and aim to give examples enough context to be understood fairly. We do not present a single anecdote or interpretation as proof of a universal rule. If a claim is uncertain, contested or dependent on context, the wording should say so.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions are made for the reader's understanding, not to conceal a relevant point of view. Readers may report a possible error through the Contact page. We review correction requests, update material when warranted and make significant changes clear to readers where appropriate.
Partner material
Paid, commissioned or partner-supported material is labelled clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or control over unrelated editorial decisions. We do not imply that a partner has endorsed an article unless that is explicitly stated.
Images and illustrations
Images are chosen to support the subject and should not mislead readers about what happened or where. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when that is the case, they are identified as such. Illustrations are not evidence of a real event or scene.
Public life deserves a closer look
We pay attention to the customs and spaces that can be easy to overlook. Small details do not tell the whole story, but they can give us better questions to ask.
